Green Foundation Ireland, along with St Fintan’s Green Action (a Foxrock Parish Pastoral Council initiative), invite you to participate in an evening in-person talk:

Make Your Home a Nature Reserve

GETTING THERE

Foxrock Parish Pastoral Centre is located on the grounds of the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour in Foxrock, ideally situated close to the M50 motorway. It is on the N11 bus corridor, served by many bus routes including 7b, 7d, 46a, 64, 75, 84, 84x and 145. The Aircoach (Greystones route) and St. Kevin’s Bus also stop at Foxrock Church. Here is a map to help you locate it.

About our guest speaker

DONNA MULLEN
Chair of Green Foundation Ireland, Donna is a farmer, consultant ecologist, and director of Wildlife Surveys Ireland, with an award-winning farm, awards and placements which include the RDS Sustainable Enterprise Award, the EU Rural Inspiration Award, and the Ellison Award.

She works as an ecologist, drawing up nature trails and sustainability plans. Her work involves spending many happy hours surveying buildings for bats, and she helped draw up the guidelines on bat surveys for the Heritage Council (Traditional Farm Building Scheme). She is a founder member of both Bat Conservation Ireland and the Irish Environmental Network, and has also served on the board of the Irish Wildlife Trust.

Donna has a keen interest in environmental law and co-ordinates the campaign to have the environment protected under the Irish Constitution.

She lives on a farm nature reserve in County Meath with her husband, four children, and an assortment of animals.

THEME

Our talk will explore the individual animals, how they think and what they need to flourish – including what individuals can do in the home and in their community to encourage wildlife.
