GETTING THERE

The Mansion House is situated in Dawson Street, Dublin 2 – here is a map to help you located it. Access to the Oak Room (where our event is being held) is via the entrance to the left of the building. This is a shared entrance with the Round Room. For those with a disability, access is via a platform lift which can be found to the left of the building. Please let us know in advance if you require assistance, so a member of the Mansion House staff can be assigned to help you on the day.

Public transport is probably the best option as car parking in front of the Mansion House is strictly forbidden. The location is close to the LUAS at the Dawson stop and to bus routes that travel along Dawson Street.

The nearest car parking is either at Dawson Street (which is via School House Lane and is immediately behind the Mansion House) or at the Setanta Centre.

ABOUT THIS BOOK

At a meeting in Germany between John Gormley (former Minister for the Environment) and Jan Philipp Albrecht (the incoming President of the Heinrich Böll Foundation), they discussed the possibility of collaboration with Green Foundation Ireland. The Heinrich Böll Foundation is a member of the Green European Foundation.

John suggested a visit to Ireland to re-establish the Irish connection with the Heinrich Böll Foundation and this took place from 12-15 September 2022, along with René Böll (the son of Heinrich) and GFI’s Tommy Simpson.

Following on from this visit, a book Reconnecting with Böll – An Irish Journey, edited by John, was published in December 2022.
