Integration of the Eurozone is proceeding without the inclusion of a proper social dimension. This has recently been addressed by the EU Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, László Andor, who urges that the discussions on Eurozone integration include high unemployment. At the same time, however, the Eurosceptic debate is increasing in intensity, both inside and outside the Eurozone, not only in the UK, but also in the member states where unemployment is unacceptably high.
The Seminar addressed both of these issues with a discussion on what kind of social and ecological Europe is possible and desirable to urgently address these concerns.
