EP3: ‘About The House, Series’

This year we are returning to Meenacross in Co. Donegal to see how architect Cathal Stephens and his wife Sarah have completed their retrofit and extension of a 19th century cottage. One of the highlights of last series, this project combines Cathal’s modern design philosophy with the simple, rural aesthetic of this beautiful part of Donegal.Not everyone has the money to create a passive house like the Stephens, often people want to make their houses cost less to run but have smaller budgets to work with. ;We look at the pitfalls of the cheaper insulation option — drylining.
