Green Foundation Ireland hosted a talk on Water, Technology, and Society: from Rogerstown to the Rhine which took place online on 19 February 2025. Our guest speaker was DANIEL O’BRIEN, an applied environmentalist who is currently studying International Land and Water Management at Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
With a background in statistics, they bring together technical expertise and community engagement through roles such as Waterways Officer with Rush Tidy Towns and membership of the Coastal Erosion Liaison Sub-Committee of Fingal County Council. Their work spans from local citizen science initiatives to advanced multifactorial risk assessment, emphasising the intersection of technology, science, and community action.
